Responsible for the production and management of outsourced high-quality game art content. Provides guidance and feedback to vendor team and interfaces with the projects leads to centralize and format art production requirements.

  • The key resource and guidance provider for art outsourcing vendors
  • Strong understanding of 3D and 2D packages
  • Strives to uphold defined project standards and to go above and beyond general expectations
  • Maintains a clear and positive communication line with each project as well as vendors
  • Ensures respect of timelines, timely feedback and detailed reporting on the creation of outsourced art assets
  • Responsible for the production and formatting of guidelines, template and best practice; can clearly communicate with project team and inform them of successful outsourcing strategies
  • Dispatches tasks and assets to vendors based on track record and skills to ensure on time and on quality delivery
  • Recognizes and implements opportunities to improve production efficiency and asset quality
  • Provides guidance, feedback and asset approval to outsource artists; overviews all vendor provided assets and ensures the consistent high quality of multiple projects art production
  • Supervises and owns outsource briefs
  • Creates and maintains outsourced asset list and clearly documents and informs of progress; ensures all relevant documentation is recorded and presented in an accessible form (such as Confluence and Jira)
  • Creates and update KPI of vendor performance to inform production and business management
  • Leads 2 annual workshops on successful outsourcing strategies for internal artists as well as producers
  • Accurately predict production timelines and ensure deadlines are clearly communicated and achieved
  • Produce and circulate clear documentation of production guidelines and best working practices
  • Ensure team works in a source safe environment and with an organized professional approach
  • Willing to acquire new knowledge and skills
  • Maintains a project asset list and clearly documents progress
  • Ensures the defined file naming and folder structure convention is maintained throughout the project
  • Presents results weekly, regularly updating project Lead Artists and producer as to the status of the production
  • Identifies problems in his/her area/department, solves them and (if not possible) escalates them to his/her manager
  • Display a positive working attitude within the workplace with the aim to motivate and inspire colleagues

Required Skills

  • University degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Arts, additional certifications in multimedia arts preferred
  • Work experience: 5 or more years of related experience in the gaming industry; participation in at least 4 commercially relevant title or project as a lead artist
  • Strong knowledge of preferred 3D software (including 3DS Max or Maya)
  • Strong knowledge of preferred 2D software (including Photoshop)
  • Experience with lighting, composition, color studies, painting and storyboards and a good understanding of traditional art and design fundamentals
  • Up to date knowledge project management software
  • Flawless communication in English
