Material Artist [Taipei, Taiwan]

Location:TAIWAN, TAIPEI

NeoBards is seeking a talented and experienced Material Artist to join our team and oversee the creation and management of material assets for our upcoming projects.

Scope of responsibility

    • Develop and create high-quality PBR materials
    • Conduct technical research and optimize material performance within the game engine
    • Ensure the quality of texture and material assets for both internal projects and outsourced deliveries meet project standards
    • Collaborate effectively across departments

Essential skills

    • Proficient in creating material shaders using Unreal Engine
    • Solid understanding of Unreal Engine workflows and performance optimization
    • Familiarity with PBR material creation pipelines
    • Skilled in procedural material generation (Substance 3D Designer)

Other Qualification

    • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a relevant role
    • Associate degree or higher in Art, Fine Arts, or a related field
    • Basic English communication skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) and Fluent in Chinese
    • Proficient with tools including: 3ds Max, Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop, Substance 3D Designer, Substance 3D Painter, Unreal Engine, Marmoset Toolbag
    • Experience working on at least one released mobile or console title
    • Knowledge of lighting concepts and experience with production is a plus
