Neobards is looking for an extremely talented and experienced Senior Lighting artist to participate in the creation of the lighting of an ambitious project on Pc and console platform.
Role
Responsible for the creation and delivery of high quality Lighting on Pc and console platform.
Understands the product art direction and translates it into efficient real-time lighting into the game.
Maintain visibility on the progress and accurately predicts and deliver to deadlines.
Oversees the quality and delivery of necessary elements.
Key Responsibility:
Mentor and grows Junior artists upholding the highest professional standards.
Maintain close collaboration with the design, code and rendering team to ensure compliance with design choices and technical performance.
Delivers to the highest standards of quality on pc and console.
Delivers accurate estimates to project management and owns the delivery on time and quality.
Pro-actively manages his/her dependencies
Maintain homogeneity of game assets with other lighting artists.
Ensure technical and organizational compliance with defined standards.
Owns lighting, shader and post effects creation in his/her area.
Upholds the Art bible and technical documentation related to Lighting creation.
Translates Art direction into the Lighting field and deliver high standard of visual quality and performance.
Required Skills:
At least 2 shipped titles as Lighting artist on pc or console and 1 as a Senior Lighting Artist
Very experienced with pc and console platform requirements.
Expert knowledge in Physically based Lighting setup
Written and verbal communication skills (English Chinese)
Expert knowledge in Max/Maya and photoshop
Experienced with engine optimization
High level of shader understanding
Expert knowledge of modern rendering engine.
Keen eye for cinematography and photography
Deep understanding of the physics of light.

Design and build levels, combat encounters and missions that meet the demands of various types of game
Coordinate overall game flow and game rhythm, compose documents
Integrate visual, audio, and gameplay requirements, produce level prototype
Align the understanding of level design of colleagues from different disciplines, so that production objectives are fully understood
Optimization and debugging of level content
Provide guidance to the level design team to ensure that the production results are aligned with the game’s objectives and assist members in task planning and personal growth
Key Responsibilities
Clearly indicate content of level design through text, images, or other mediums; provide level design spec documents
Ensure legibility of (design) documents, allowing colleagues from different professional field to understand the fun and purpose of level design
After collecting design feedback from all disciplines, use game development tools to produce prototypes for corresponding levels
Final debugging of levels and modifications of quality optimization
Provide guidance and training for members to elevate their capabilities
Review production results to validate quality and playability
Required Skills
A minimum of 6 years of experience as a Level Designer, and one or more shipped AAA titles as a Senior or Lead
Excellent and efficient communication skills
Have conceptual knowledge in architecture and space
Experience in using Unreal for game production is a MUST
Experience with visual scripting to create bespoke gameplay content
NeoBards is looking for a combat game designer familiar with third-person action games and experienced in making PvP games to join us in the development of a next-gen, action, competitive multiplayer co-op game. Role
Design combat in a third-person view
Establish the rules and enjoyability of combat and multiplayer PvP
Based on the game’s objectives, interactive elements and environment design, lay out the most suitable combat experience design
Establish the combat system and required features; work with colleagues from different professional fields to set up the necessary production methods and pipeline for combat
Provide guidance to the combat design team to ensure that the production results are aligned with the game’s objectives and assist members in task planning and personal growth

Review the combat design team’s documentation to ensure that colleagues from various disciplines can fully understand the enjoyability and objectives of the design
Establish the combat system and design direction; ensure that the combat team’s designs are aligned with the game’s objectives
Lead members of the combat design team and colleagues from related disciplines; ensure that members’ work efficiency and quality are aligned with the game’s objectives
Provide guidance and training for members to elevate their capabilities

Required Skills
A minimum of 5 years of experience in combat design for action games
Prior experience in leading a combat design team and participating in a complete combat design from start to finish for a project
Experience in producing third-person, real-time, 3D action, combat-oriented games
Experience in designing for online PvP games
Understanding of the relationship between behavior states and movement components when creating characters
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiar with Unreal Engine
Experience with visual scripting to create combat systems
Experience with AAA games development in leadership role would be an advantage
